Her Majesty ascended the throne on 6 February 1952 and was crowned Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June 1953 at the age of 27. The Monarch visited Australia two years later, in a highly publicised tour, which proved to be a cultural milestone. When the dazzling young Queen disembarked SS Gothic in Sydney on 3 February 1954, she was the first reigning Monarch to set foot on Australian soil and she was greeted by tumultuous adoration. This stunning tribute commemorates both the 1952 Royal Accession and 1954 Royal tour in a splendid Two-Coin Set.
