2014 Year of the Horse 1oz .999 Coloured Silver Bullion Coin

Celebrate the Year of the Horse with with this stunning 1oz coloured silver coin from The Perth Mint, honouring the 7th animal in the 12-year Chinese zodiac.

The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar horse include 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002 and 2014 with those born under the influence of this sign said to be hardworking, sociable, optimistic and energetic.

Meticulously struck from 99.9% pure silver, the coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

DESIGN

The reverse features a coloured depiction of two brown horses standing within a stylised Chinese landscape. The Chinese character for ‘horse’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Horse’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

The obverse of the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the weight and fineness, and the monetary denomination.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT

The Perth Mint, located in Perth, Western Australia, is one of the oldest and most prestigious mints in the world, with a rich history that dates back to the late 19th century.
