The Anzac Day 2017 – Australian Intelligence Corps $1 Coin in Card celebrates the work of the Australian Intelligence Corps.
Formed in 1907, the Australian Intelligence Corps provides intelligence support to commanders so they can make informed decisions on the battlefield. They do so by compiling information about the terrain and the enemy, including their positions, tactics, and equipment.
Anzac Themed Reverse Design
The design on this uncirculated $1 coin portrays two members of the Australian Intelligence Corps analysing enemy force locations on a map. A bugler in silhouette, the inscription ‘Lest We Forget’, and the date April 25 are also incorporated into the design.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under Australia’s Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2017 year-date.
Attractive Presentation Card
The coin is presented in a specially designed display card, which features a fold-out stand for upright display, and portrays an image of a member of the Australian Intelligence Corps.
