2023 Chinese Myths & Legends Dragon and Koi 1oz .9999 Silver Bullion Coin
In Chinese mythology, the dragon is a divine creature and an auspicious symbol of power, strength, wealth, and good fortune. Throughout East Asia and beyond, koi are synonymous with harmony and happiness, and are also said to be lucky omens for marriage and fertility.
Meticulously struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, this coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and has a mintage of 40,000.
DESIGN
The coin portrays a dragon and koi eyeing a flame-ringed pearl, an ancient embodiment of wisdom. Also in the design is a ‘moon bridge’ – it’s high arch and reflection on the water creating the shape of the lunar body often associated with purity or perfection. Also included in the design is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The coin’s obverse depicts the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, supplemented with the dates of her reign, the monetary denomination and the 2023 year-date.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT
The Perth Mint, located in Perth, Western Australia, is one of the oldest and most prestigious mints in the world, with a rich history that dates back to the late 19th century. It was established in 1899 as a branch of Britain's Royal Mint in response to the discovery of rich gold deposits in Western Australia.
