2024 Austrian Philharmonic 1oz Platinum Coin
First minted in 1989, Austrian Philharmonic bullion coins were created to pay homage to the famous Vienna Philharmonic, one of the world’s most well-known orchestras.
2016 marked the first year that the Austrian Mint produced the Philharmonic in platinum.
DESIGN
The coins reverse features various musical instruments used by the members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra such as the cello, violin, harp, French horn and bassoon. The inscription “WIENER PHILHARMONIKER” is situated above the depictions of the instruments.
The coins obverse features the Musikverein, the great organ of the golden hall along with the coin’s mint year, weight, fineness and monetary denomination. The obverse also features the inscription “REPUBLIK OSTERREICH”.
