2024 American Silver Eagle 1oz .999 Silver Bullion Coin

2024 is the 38th annual release of the American Silver Eagle. 2021 marked the 35th anniversary for the American Silver Eagle as well as the end of the iconic heraldic eagle design by legendary designer John Mercanti. For the first time in 35 years, the American Silver Eagle has received an incredible new design by artist Emily Damstra.

It was first released by the United States Mint on November 24, 1986. It is struck only in the one-troy ounce size, which has a nominal face value of one dollar and is guaranteed to contain one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver and is guaranteed by the United States Mint.

The American Silver Eagle has been produced at three mints: the Philadelphia Mint, the San Francisco Mint, and the West Point Mint.

The American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States.

DESIGN

The design on the coin’s obverse was taken from the “Walking Liberty” design by Adolph A. Weinman, which originally had been used on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar coin of the United States from 1916 to 1947. The obverse is inscribed with the year of minting or issuance, the word “LIBERTY”, and the phrase “IN GOD WE TRUST”. The design also adds the artists initials underneath the “IN GOD WE TRUST” inscription.

As of 2021, the reverse shows an eagle coming in for a landing, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to a nest. To give the new coins an added level of security, they have also been updated with enhanced security features, including a reeded edge variation. The reverse is inscribed with the phrases “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, “1 OZ. FINE SILVER”, “ONE DOLLAR” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” to the right of the eagle.

PRESENTATION

Individual coins are presented in a Swan Bullion branded plastic flip. Swan Bullion offers an optional Air-Tite capsule that can be purchased to protect your investment.

Multiples of 20 are packaged in tubes with 25 tubes to a monster box (500oz to a monster box).
