The Royal Australian Mint first introduced its annual baby sets in 1995, celebrating classic Australian children’s stories such as Possum Magic, Blinky Bill and Dot and the Kangaroo. In 2021 the much loved baby coins series was introduced which saw Australia’s iconic circulating designs reimagined in a joyous baby themed makeover. The Mint is thrilled to introduce the newest premium member to the baby coin gang with this 2024 $5 Fine Silver Proof Baby Coin, featuring the much adored toy kangaroo design.

This beautiful precious metal coin comes in a gorgeous presentation case, which can be customised with a baby’s details and photo, making it a unique and sentimental gift that celebrates the arrival of a bub, the wonders of a child’s imagination and the simple joys of collecting.

Each coin is struck by the Royal Australian Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver and is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 with a mintage of 15,000.

DESIGN

The coin’s reverse features the delightful toy kangaroo design with the $5 monetary denomination.

The coin’s obverse depicts the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III and the 2024 year-date.

PRESENTATION

Each coin comes encapsulated and presented in a customisable presentation case with space to add a photo and birth details.
