2026 50c Year of the Horse Tetradecagon Coin
In 2026 we celebrate the Lunar Year of the Horse. This 2026 50c Uncirculated Tetradecagon Coin celebrates the Year of the Horse and all who are born under its sign.
Each year of Sheng Xiao, the Chinese Zodiac, is represented by one of the twelve animals. Each creature’s unique characteristics are said to be shared by people born under their sign. People born in the Year of the Horse are believed to be passionate, independent, and filled with energy. Famous international Horses include director James Cameron, environmental activist Greta Thunberg, and musician Paul McCartney. Well-known Australian Horses include actress Margot Robbie and horse trainer Gai Waterhouse.
The Chinese calendar also rotates through the elements of earth, fire, water, metal and wood as part of a larger 60-year cycle. 2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse; the fire element is said to further amplify the natural traits of the Horse.
This splendid 2026 50c Uncirculated Tetradecagon coin is the third release in the Royal Australian Mint’s reimagined Tetradecagon Lunar Series.
