Chess Crown Series – The Rook 1oz Silver Stackable
The history of chess can be traced back nearly 1,500 years to its earliest known predecessor called chaturanga, a similar but much older game of Indian origin. The current form of the game emerged from Spain and the rest of Southern Europe during the second half of the 15th century.
This Chess Crown series will feature all 6 pieces from the game of chess – the fourth of the series being the rook!
The Rook – worth 5 points of material – are extremely powerful pieces on a chess board. Rooks may move any number of squares horizontally or vertically without jumping, and it may capture an enemy piece on its path and may participate in castling. Each player starts the game with two rooks, one in each corner on their side of the board.
Eight of these 1oz silver antiqued stackable chess pieces can be inserted into a specially made capsule to form a crown.
DESIGN
The front features an outlined rook that turns into an octagonal shape below. Further below the rook is the image of a battering ram. Various parts of the front have higher reliefing.
The back features an inverse of the front, allowing the individual pieces to stack together. The weight and fineness are inscribed onto the bottom of the pieces.
Has an antiqued finish.
PRESENTATION
Each Rook 1oz silver stackable is presented inside of a specially designed protective capsule.
An optional extra crown capsule can be purchased that houses 8 of these stackable rooks to form a crown. Please note that these stackable rooks can only fit in the crown capsule when not inside their own individual capsules.
