2026 $2 Dawn Service Coloured Coin Mint Roll
Each year on 25 April, vast numbers of Australians mark ANZAC Day by attending a dawn service. An evocative way to commemorate the sacrifices of those who have served their country, dawn services are held throughout Australia, as well as at some key commemorative sites overseas – such as Gallipoli, where the original ANZACs landed in 1915.
In 2020 and 2021, when most could not attend physical services due to COVID restrictions, Australians still partook in the tradition by gathering in their driveways in the early hours of the morning. This reflects the enduring place that the dawn service holds in our collective consciousness.
Ahead of ANZAC Day 2026, the Royal Australian Mint commemorates the dawn service with this stunning coloured $2 coin.
Struck by the Royal Australian Mint from AlBr, these $2 coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
DESIGN
The reverse of the coin features a striking representation of the dawn service of gathering crowds paying their respects, including the sun rising over the ocean in coloured print. Also includes the inscription “DAWN SERVICE – LEST WE FORGET”.
The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III sculpted by designer Daniel Thorne as well as the 2026 year-date and monetary denomination.
PRESENTATION
All rolls are guaranteed to contain 25x $2 coins in mint branded paper with a tamper-proof security sticker.
