Continuing on with the popular Australian Posters of World War I series is the third release, the War Bonds silver coloured coin.
The first War Loan campaign was launched on the 1 July 1915, followed by another seven, the last of which was introduced on 1 August 1918. The series of posters were produced in great volumes during the First World War, focusing on themes of patriotism combined with a notion of responsibility, aiming to inspire Australians to do their part to financially support the war through war bonds.

Australian War Bonds Poster Reverse Design
The coin’s reverse features a coloured representation of the World War I ‘Our daddy is fighting’ poster headed by the inscription AUSTRALIAN WAR BONDS. The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark, and the coin’s weight and fineness also appear in the design.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2016 year-date, and the monetary denomination are depicted on the coin’s obverse.
Limited Mintage
The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 of the Australian Posters of World War I – War Bonds 2016 1oz Silver Proof Rectangle Coin.
Presentation Packaging and Numbered Certificate
The coin is housed in a contemporary, latex case which displays both sides of the coin. The case is packaged within a beautifully illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
