Chess Crown Series – The Bishop 1oz .999 Silver Bullion Stackable
The history of chess can be traced back nearly 1,500 years to its earliest known predecessor called chaturanga, a similar but much older game of Indian origin. The current form of the game emerged from Spain and the rest of Southern Europe during the second half of the 15th century.
This Chess Crown series will feature all 6 pieces from the game of chess – the third of the series being the bishop!
The Bishop – worth slightly more than the knight but still generally considered a 3 point piece – are the leaders in diagonal control. Players start the game with two bishops on opposite coloured squares and due to the fact that bishops can only move diagonally, that means that those bishops will remain on those coloured squares for the rest of the game. Bishops usually gain in relative strength towards the endgame as more pieces are captured and more open lines become available on which they can operate.
Eight of these 1oz silver antiqued stackable chess pieces can be inserted into a specially made capsule to form a crown.
The obverse features an outlined bishop with an ornately detailed cross below it. The shape of the stackable mimics that of a bishop chess piece with symbols of Christianity present in each piece with a lamb, praying hands and a dove. Various parts of the front have higher reliefing.
The back features an inverse of the front, allowing the individual pieces to stack together. The weight and fineness are inscribed onto the bottom of the pieces.
Has an antiqued finish.
Each Bishop 1oz silver stackable is presented inside of a specially designed protective capsule.
An optional extra crown capsule can be purchased that houses 8 of these stackable bishops to form a crown. Please note that these stackable bishops can only fit in the crown capsule when not inside their own individual capsules.
