Chess Crown Series – The Knight 1oz Silver Bullion Stackable
The history of chess can be traced back nearly 1,500 years to its earliest known predecessor called chaturanga, a similar but much older game of Indian origin. The current form of the game emerged from Spain and the rest of Southern Europe during the second half of the 15th century.
This Chess Crown series will feature all 6 pieces from the game of chess – the second of the series being the knight!
The Knight – worth 3 points of material – is the most unique piece in chess due to its unusual “L” movement in the game. A knight is typically strongest in the centre of the board and supported by other pieces.
Eight of these 1oz silver antiqued stackable chess pieces can be inserted into a specially made capsule to form a crown.
The obverse features an outlined knight with a shield down the bottom with multiple overlapping swords, surrounded by ornate imagery. You have two horses either side near the top with a chess board and swords either side at the very top. Various parts of the obverse have higher reliefing.
The reverse features an inverse of the obverse, allowing the individual pieces to stack together. The reverse also features the weight and fineness on the bottom of the shield.
Has an antiqued finish.
Each knight 1oz silver stackable is presented inside of a specially designed protective capsule.
An optional extra crown capsule can be purchased that houses 8 of these stackable knights to form a crown. Please note that these stackable knights can only fit in the crown capsule when not inside their own individual capsules.
