KOALA SHINES IN 2019 DESIGN
The Perth Mint’s 2019 Bullion Coin Program continues its 32-year tradition of offering outstanding craftsmanship, iconic artistry and assured purity with exquisite new designs struck on pure gold, silver and platinum coins.The 13th annual koala design portrays one of Australia’s most best loved marsupials sitting astride branches in a flowering eucalyptus tree.

The 2019 Australian Koala is offered in 1 kilo and 1oz versions only. Just 300,000 of the 1oz coins will be released. Minting of the kilo coin is unlimited.

Each coin’s obverse bears the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination. The coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

AUTHENTICATION FEATURE
Each coin includes an authentication feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Contained within the reverse design’s inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KOALA’, this letter is only detectable under a magnifying glass. The authentication feature is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.

Each bullion coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule.
