This coin pays homage to the well renown the Vitruvian Man (Italian: Le proporzioni del corpo umano secondo Vitruvio, which is translated to “The proportions of the human body according to Vitruvius”), a drawing made by the Italian polymath Leonardo da Vinci around 1490. The drawing represents ideal human body proportions. Its inscription in a square and a circle comes from a description by the ancient Roman architect Vitruvius in Book III of his treatise De architectura.
The obverse of the coin remains untouched as a standard American Silver Eagle.
Comes accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity inside of a black display case, as well as a yellow Vitruvian Man themed shipping box. Has a Leonardo da Vinci quote on the back of the box. These set of coins are limited to 100 pieces worldwide.
Note: The colourisation / plating on this piece was performed by an experienced third party company, not by the mint of origin.
