The series is available in 1 kilo, 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz sizes. Mintages of the 1oz coins is unlimited.

All coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

DESIGN

The reverse of each gold coin showcases a new design featuring an adult kangaroo on a grassed plain with a joey in the background. The reverse also includes the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO’, the 2020 year-date, weight and purity, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

The Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are shown on the obverse of each coin.

AUTHENTICATION FEATURE

The reverse of the 1oz coin and 1 kilo coin includes an authentication feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Contained within the coin’s inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO’, this letter is only detectable under a magnifying glass.

PRESENTATION

Each gold bullion coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule.
