2021 Robin Hood 1oz .999 Silver Bullion Coin – Myths and Legends

Centuries after his tales were first told around British campfires and hearths, The Royal Mint is celebrating the legendary hero Robin Hood. The iconic character, who famously stole from the rich to give to the poor, appears on the first coin in a new bullion collection inspired by myth and legend. The hero of folklore will soon be followed by two more coins inspired by the tale, featuring the courageous heroine Maid Marian and Robin Hood’s trusted companion Little John.

Passed along through the oral traditions of the time, stories of this heroic rebel have been spread far and wide since the fourteenth century.

This is the first release in the brand new Myths and Legends series by the Royal Mint.

DESIGN

Robin Hood was often described as a great archer – the reverse has Jody Clark’s depiction of the character featuring him hidden amongst the branches of Sherwood Forest, poised with a bow and arrow ready for action. “ROBIN HOOD . 1 OZ . FINE SILVER . 999 . 2021” inscription can be seen around the top edge of the coin.

A micro-dot table texture surrounds Her Majesty’s portrait on the obverse of the coin with the inscriptions “D . G . REG . F . D . 2 POUNDS . ELIZABETH II” around the edge of coin.

PRESENTATION

Individual coins will be presented in a Swan Bullion protective plastic flip. We offer an optional Air-Tite capsule to protect your investment. Multiples of 25 will be provided in a tube with 20 tubes to a monster box (500oz total).
