2022 The Royal Arms 10oz .999 Silver Bullion Coin
After centuries of use on banners and shields on the battlefield, the historic Royal Arms has been captured on the latest bullion coin from The Royal Mint. The Royal Arms is the official Coat of Arms of the ruling monarch, and can be seen everywhere from official British documents to monuments across the United Kingdom.
In 2019, heraldic artist Timothy Noad created an interpretation of The Royal Arms for a new bullion coin range, and the historic design returns for a fourth year.
The reverse features Timothy Noad’s design of a quartered shield with the Lion of England and Unicorn of Scotland on either side. The shield features the Coat of Arms of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The design includes the designs of the leek for Wales, shamrock for Northern Ireland, Tudor rose for England the thistle for Scotland. Above, the Imperial Crown is featured on the design. The coin’s weight, fineness and 2022 year-date are also present on the reverse.
For this 10oz silver coin, The Royal Arms is surrounded by radial lines, providing an added security feature.
The obverse features the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in a right profile. The coin’s monetary denomination is present on the obverse as well as the inscriptions “ELIZABETH II, and D.G. REG. F.D.” The background of the coin is filled with a guilloche pattern.
Each coin is presented in an individual protective capsule. Multiples of 15 are provided in a monster box.
