2023 €5 Malta Knights of the Past 1oz Silver Coin

2023 Malta Knights of the Past 5 Euro 1 oz Silver BU is the third and final coin in a series co-created with the Central Bank of Malta. In issuing this series, Germania Mint is making a modern reference to the traditions and history of the Order of Malta.

The 2023 Malta Knights of the Past 1oz .9999 Silver Coin has a limited world wide mintage of 15,000.

DESIGN

The coin’s reverse features a knight in ornate armour, guarding the freedom and unity of Europe. Behind him is the watchtower of Valetta, as well as Fort Saint Angelo in Birgu, which was the Order’s headquarters during the Great Siege of Malta. The monetary denomination of 5 Euro is displayed as well as the coins namesake “KNIGHTS OF THE PAST” presented at the top.

The obverse presents the Malta national coat of arms on a shield, held by a Maltese knight. The knight is in full armour with a chain mail pattern on the background. The coins weight, purity and 2023 year-date can be seen as well as “MALTA” at the top.

PRESENTATION

Each individual coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule inside of a Knights of the Past themed blister packaging, accompanied by a NON-numbered certificate of authenticity.
