2024 $1 Australian Paralympic Team Coloured Uncirculated Coin in Card – AlBr
Paralympics Australia and the Royal Australian Mint have partnered to share in the journey of our Para-athletes at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games in August this year. Join the excitement as our Australian Paralympic Team competes on the world stage, vying for medals in sports including wheelchair rugby, Para-athletics, Para-table tennis and Para-swimming.
The Royal Australian Mint is proud to have released various coins and memorabilia sharing in the spirit of the Olympics, Paralympics and Commonwealth Games over the decades.
Each coin is struck by the Royal Australian Mint and is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
DESIGN
The reverse of the coin features a female Para-table tennis player mid-swing during a match. The iconic green and gold Australian sporting colours are used to emphasise the power and direction that the ball was struck by the player. The background of the image features an inconspicuous silhouette of the Eiffel Tower representing where this 2024 Paralympics resides.
The obverse features the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III as well as the 2024 year-date and monetary denomination.
