2026 20c 1941 Service Amid Strife Three Coin Set
The Royal Australian Mint presents this 2026 Three-Coin Coloured Uncirculated Set to mark the 85th anniversary of three key chapters of Australia’s military involvement in 1941.
North Africa and Middle East Campaigns
Australians formed a large part of the Commonwealth force that overran Italian positions in Libya in early 1941, though the Allies were subsequently pushed back eastwards by Nazi Germany’s rapid counterattack. In the Syria-Lebanon sector, the Allies had more success, defeating the fascist Vichy French forces in July.
Greece and Crete Campaigns
Australians served in hard-fought campaigns on mainland Greece and Crete against the German invasion. Despite the ultimate defeat, Australian service personnel had shared experiences with locals that outlasted the war.
Establishment of Women’s Services
Australia began to realise the difference that women serving in uniform could make to the war effort. The Women’s Auxiliary Australian Air Force (WAAAF), Women’s Royal Australian Naval Service (WRANS) and Australian Women’s Army Service (AWAS) were all formed in 1941.
This 2026 20c Service Amid Strife Three Coin Set commemorates Australia’s significant military history milestones.
Struck by the Royal Australian Mint from CuNi, these 20c coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and have a mintage of 40,000.

The reverse of each coin features a design by Mint coin designer Aaron Baggio, commemorating key Second World War events of 1941.
