Continuing The Royal Mint’s captivating Norse Gods series, the second release features the thunderous god Thor in a powerful and commanding design.

Thor is the mighty, red-bearded god within Norse mythology who is reputed throughout the nine realms as a powerful and courageous warrior. The defender of Asgard – the celestial home to the Aesir – and protector of humanity, Thor’s strength is often channelled towards fighting giants and trolls, as well as wrestling with the titanic Midgard serpent that encircles the earth.

Each bar is struck by The Royal Mint from 10oz of 99.99% pure silver and has a maximum mintage of 6,000.

DESIGN

The front of each bar depicts Thor in a pose of divine power; he wields Mjollnir, his trusted hammer, above his head as he commands lightning from the sky above. Thor’s belt of strength, known as Megingjard, adorns his midriff, and he drives his chariot pulled by two male goats named Tanngniost (Teeth-grinder) and Tanngrisnir (Teeth-barer).

The back of each bar features The Royal Mint mintmark as well as the weight and fineness.

Each Norse Gods – Thor 10oz silver minted bar is securely packed in a Germania Mint designed and produced cardboard blister package that includes designs inspired by Norse mythology.
