2025 Dragon 1oz Gold Rectangular Coin

The dragon is a legendary reptilian creature steeped in cultural significance. In Western folklore it is portrayed as a winged beast that unleashes a destructive flame. In the Eastern tradition, however, the serpentine-shaped dragon is a symbol of potent power and abundant good fortune.

Each coin is meticulously struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure gold and is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The Perth Mint will release no more than 8,888 of the Dragon 2025 1oz Gold Bullion Rectangular Coin.

DESIGN

This reverse portrays a meticulously detailed depiction of an oriental dragon, snarling with open claws and intricately scaled wings. The design also incorporates the inscription ‘2025’, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark

The obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, as well as the coin’s weight, purity, and monetary denomination.

The coin incorporates an authentication feature on the reverse. In the form of a micro-laser engraved letter, it is only detectable under a magnifying glass.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT

The Perth Mint, located in Perth, Western Australia, is one of the oldest and most prestigious mints in the world, with a rich history that dates back to the late 19th century. It was established in 1899 as a branch of Britain's Royal Mint in response to the discovery of rich gold deposits in Western Australia.
