2014 Year of the Horse 1/2oz .999 Silver Bullion Coin – Lunar Series II
In 2014, The Perth Mint’s internationally renowned Australian Lunar Series II celebrated the Year of the Horse, the seventh animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac.
Typical traits of those people born under the influence of the the horse include independence, confidence and intelligence. Lunar horse years include 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002 and 2014.
Meticulously struck from 99.99% pure silver, the coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
DESIGN
The reverse depicts two horses standing within a stylised Chinese landscape. The Chinese character for horse and the inscription Year of the Horse also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional P mintmark.
The obverse of the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the weight and fineness, and the monetary denomination.
PRESENTATION
Each bullion coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule.
