The Royal Australian Mint proudly presents Desert Life, the thirty-first release in its Kangaroo Series, celebrating the iconic Red Kangaroo and its home in Australia’s arid red centre.

Desert life is harsh and unforgiving, yet the Red Kangaroo has adapted to these surroundings and can go for long periods without water. But when water is found, this desert dweller enjoys a long cooling drink.

The Royal Australian Mint continues to tell the unique stories of our iconic national symbol through its ongoing Kangaroo Series.

Each coin is struck by the Royal Australian Mint from 1/10oz of 99.99% pure gold and is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 with a mintage of 3,000.

DESIGN

The reverse depicts a kangaroo taking a refreshing drink at a desert waterhole. The golden glow of this coin evokes the heat of the desert, while the detailed polishes and frostings contrast the rugged surroundings from the shimmering surface of the cooling water. Also features the weight, fineness and monetary denomination.

The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III sculpted by Daniel Thorne as well as the 2024 year-date.

PRESENTATION

Each coin comes encapsulated inside of a prestigious black Royal Australian Mint display case presented in a red-brown outback inspired Kangaroo shipper. Each coin comes accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
