The sugar maple leaf is used on the reverse of every gold maple leaf coin. This design was originally created in 1979 by Walter Ott and is so popular that it has been used on the silver, platinum, and palladium versions of the coin subsequently released since the Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin debuted in 1979.
DESIGN
The reverse features the sugar maple leaf with the coins weight and fineness inscribed around. The reverse also includes precisely machined radial lines.
The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati. The obverse also includes the monetary denomination and 2024 year-date.
