2025 50c Year of the Snake Tetradecagon Uncirculated Coin – CuNi

In 2025 we celebrate the Lunar Year of the Snake. People who are born under this sign are said to be wise, calm and observant. This 2025 50c Uncirculated Tetradecagon Coin, with its timeless and auspicious design, will make an honoured and traditional gift for Chinese New Year.

Each year of Sheng Xiao, the Chinese Zodiac, is represented by one of the twelve animals. Each creature’s unique characteristics are said to be shared by people born under their sign. People born in the Year of the Snake are believed to be creative and serene. Famous Snakes include musicians Taylor Swift and Neil Diamond, actor Daniel Radcliffe, Australian performer Emma Watkins and cricketing brothers Steve and Mark Waugh.

This stunning 2025 50c Uncirculated Tetradecagon coin celebrating the Year of the Snake is the second release in the Royal Australian Mint’s reimagined Tetradecagon Lunar Series.

DESIGN

The reverse features a beautiful snake with a lucky coin on its tail amongst champion orchids (diploprora championii). Also features the inscription “蛇” – the traditional Chinese character for snake.

The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III sculpted by Daniel Thorne as well as the monetary denomination and 2025 year-date.
