American Eagle 1oz .9995 Platinum Bullion Coin – Random Year
Assorted buyback random year American Eagle 1oz platinum coins ranging from 1997 to 2023. The years provided are at random.
As America’s first and only official platinum bullion coin, American Eagle Platinum Bullion Coins give investors an easy way to take advantage of platinum as a precious metal investment. Authorized by Congress in 1996 and first issued in 1997, these investment-grade platinum coins are guaranteed by the United States government for their weight, content, and .9995 purity.
All American Eagle Coins are legal tender coins. Although their face value is largely symbolic, it provides proof of their authenticity as official U.S. coinage. The one-ounce platinum coin displays the highest face value ($100) ever to appear on a U.S. coin.
DESIGN
The reverse of each coin has designer Thomas D. Rogers’ depiction of a soaring eagle over America with a rising sun in the distance. The reverse also includes the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” at the top with “.9995 PLATINUM 1 oz” to the side and the “$100” monetary denomination at the bottom.
The obverse depicts a close up of the Statue of Liberty looking to the future as designed by John Mercanti. The inscription “LIBERTY” can be seen across the top of the coin with the year date to the right as well as the inscription “IN GOD WE TRUST”. The Latin phrase “E PLURIBUS UNUM” translated to English “Out of many, one” can be seen in the bottom left of the obverse.

ABOUT THE UNITED STATES MINT
The United States Mint is a bureau of the Department of the Treasury responsible for producing coinage for the United States to conduct its trade and commerce, as well as controlling the movement of bullion. The first United States Mint was created in Philadelphia in 1792, and soon joined by other centers, whose coins were identified by their own mint marks. There are currently four active coin-producing mints: Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco, and West Point. We carry a large selection of both bullion and numismatic coins from The US Mint.
