The Royal Mint is proud to present the 2020 Britannia coin featuring Philip Nathan’s classic design. Standing firm in the eye of the storm, she displays an unyielding resolve. Since it was chosen to adorn the very first Britannia bullion coin in 1987, it has been acclaimed as a modern masterpiece.
DESIGN
The reverse side of the coin features an image of Lady Britannia walking at sunrise, with a trident in one hand and an olive branch and shield in the other. The design on this coin is the same design that is found on the gold and the platinum Britannia coins. Around the outside of the coin are the words ‘Britannia’, followed by the coin’s year of minting, 2020. The coin’s purity of 999 fine is also located on the outside of the coin.
The obverse of each coin features an image of Queen Elizabeth II, with the coin’s face value of £2 GBP located on the top left, and ‘Elizabeth II’ located on the top right of the coin.
PRESENTATION
Singular coins are presented in a Swan Bullion stylised plastic pouch. Multiples of 25 are packaged into tubes with 20 tubes to a monster box.
