From 1 July 2026, we are making some changes to the way our consolidated/vaulted storage program works.
90-day order reminders
Previously, when you placed a new order within your 90-day storage window, this would reset the 90-day holding period for your consolidated/vaulted orders. In practice, this meant that customers who continued placing orders may not have received a 90-day reminder.
From 1 July 2026, this will change. Your 90-day reminder email will now be triggered when your order reaches the 90-day mark. We will also introduce a new reminder email approximately two weeks before your free 90-day storage period ends, so you have advance notice before any action is required.
Storage charges
We will also begin rolling out storage charges for consolidated/vaulted orders held in our system.
Since introducing this program in 2017, we have not charged customers storage fees. However, due to increasing storage and insurance costs, we are no longer able to continue absorbing these costs indefinitely.
Storage charges will be calculated daily, based on an annual rate of 1% of the order value.
As your order approaches the end of its free storage period, you will receive warnings in the Shipment Centre dashboard at 30 days and again at 7 days before any charges begin.
Why are we making these changes?
There are two main reasons for this change.
First, we are experiencing significant space limitations. Our current vault is at capacity. While we are in the early stages of building a new facility in Perth, there is currently very limited storage space remaining in our existing vault.
Second, our insurance costs have increased substantially. Items stored in our vaults are insured by us, and since 2024 our insurance costs have doubled. As metal prices have risen, the cost of insuring customer items held in our vault has also increased significantly.
Grace period for existing orders
By default, storage charges will begin applying 90 days after 1 July 2026.
For any consolidated/vaulted orders placed before 1 July 2026, we will provide a grace period until 1 October 2026.
After 1 October 2026, any unshipped orders placed before 1 July 2026 will also begin incurring the daily storage charge. To see a preview of how this will work feel free to have a look at the gallery below!
New feature: free photos of stored orders
Based on customer feedback, and to improve the accuracy of our picking and packing process, we have also introduced a new feature that allows customers to view photos of their stored orders.
This feature is available free of charge to all customers with consolidated/vaulted orders.
If you haven’t already tried it, feel free to take a look. It is available now in the Shipment Centre.
Thank you
Finally, we would like to thank our customers for the feedback you continue to provide. Your suggestions help shape upcoming features and products in the members area.
We have a large number of customers who have not shipped products for several months, and in some cases, several years. A small number of customers have never arranged shipment of their stored products.
These changes will help us continue offering consolidated and vaulted storage in a fair and sustainable way for all customers.
