Meticulously struck from 99.99% pure silver, the coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
DESIGN
The reverse depicts a rooster, a hen, and three chicks standing amongst bamboo foliage and flowers. The Chinese character for ‘rooster’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Rooster’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
The obverse of the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the weight and fineness, and the monetary denomination.
