DESIGN
Each coin’s reverse design portrays a koala sitting astride a branch in a eucalyptus tree. The design includes the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KOALA’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the weight and fineness, and the 2019 year-date.

The Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are depicted on each coin’s obverse.

TECHNICAL NOTES
The coin’s high relief reverse and obverse are minted on concave surfaces to ensure the optimum flow of metal is achieved by the strike of the die.
