2021 Impact Moments – Meteorite 2oz .9999 Silver High Relief Coin

The Niue Island – 2021 Impact Moments: Meteorite 2 oz Silver High Relief coin was created by Germania Mint in partnership with Numizzmi. The two companies have teamed up to create a unique coin with a motif referring to the extinction of dinosaurs as a result of a meteorite hitting the earth 66 million years ago. Each coin contains a piece of this extremely rare fragment of galactic rock called Muonionalusta – a more than 4.5 billion year old meteorite discovered in 1906 in northern Sweden.

DESIGN

The coin has an unusual shape that on both sides symbolizes a meteorite entering the Earth’s atmosphere.

The reverse depicts a volcanic eruption and a Triceratops – reaching 9 meters in length, one of the most distinctive herbivorous dinosaurs. It also features the coins metal and fineness.

The obverse of the coin also shows a dinosaur skeleton and an image of Queen Elizabeth II. The monetary denomination as well as the 2021 year date can be seen on the obverse at the bottom of the coin. The Numizzmi logo can be seen at the top of the obverse in tiny detail.

The coin is made in high relief, which helps to highlight the wonderful details of the design. Both sides of the coin are richly ennobled with Antique Finish and colours, emphasizing the catastrophic effect.

PRESENTATION

Each individual coin is presented in a customised and thematic acrylic glass display. Each display piece is provided in a qureco box and each coin is provided with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
