2022 $1 Centenary of The Smith Family Uncirculated Coin in Card – AlBr
Generations of Australian children in need have grown up with the support and help of The Smith Family. In celebration of their Centenary, the Royal Australian Mint is proud to release this evocative and heartfelt 2022 $1 Uncirculated Coin.
For 100 years, The Smith Family has been working to improve the lives of Australian children in need.
From humble beginnings on Christmas Eve 1922, when five businessmen provided gifts to children in need, to the focus of the last 30 years and supporting children living with disadvantage to make the most of their education and create positive lives for themselves.
The Smith Family continues the long tradition of testing and evaluating outcomes to help refine and improve its programs and ensure that what it does will make a difference to tackling intergenerational poverty through education as it embarks on its second century.
Struck by Royal Australian Mint, the coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and has a mintage of 20,000.
