The Royal Australian Mint is proud to release the 2023 Tooth Fairy Coin in Card, available to families as they mark the occasion of a child losing a baby tooth. With a fresh new coin design and packaging illustrations, the product portrays a sense of intrigue, fun and celebration.
With a history dating back to 1920 in Australia, the Tooth Fairy is a childhood icon who traditionally collects the lost tooth and replaces it with a coin. Losing baby teeth and growing adult teeth is an opportunity for children to learn about good oral hygiene while being swept up with the sense of occasion.
DESIGN
The reverse features a fun coin design by Aaron Baggio featuring a depiction of the Tooth Fairy sitting on a mushroom holding a flower. The monetary denomination is displayed to the left.
The obverse features Jody Clark’s memorial effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizbeth II as well as the 2023 year-date.
