2023 Australian Wombat 1oz Silver Coloured Coin in Card
We are pleased to present this wonderful 1oz silver coin celebrating an iconic Australian marsupial. The wombat is a sturdy quadruped found in forested, mountainous and heathland areas of eastern Australia and Tasmania.
With powerful limbs and sharp flat claws, it is ideally built for digging. At up to one meter in length, it is one of the largest burrowing animals in the world.
Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver and issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 2,500 of the Wombat 2023 1oz Silver Coloured Coin in Card.
DESIGN
The coin portrays a coloured representation of one of Australia’s best-known marsupials – the wombat. As well as the inscription ‘WOMBAT’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the reverse includes the coin’s weight, purity and 2023 year-date.
The coin bears The Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, featuring the Jody Clark effigy supplemented with the dates of her reign and the monetary denomination.
Each coin’s reverse includes a security feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter within the design. It is only detectable under a magnifying glass.
PRESENTATION
The Wombat 2023 1oz Silver Coloured Coin is presented in a themed presentation card.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT
Established on 20 June 1899, two years before Australia’s Federation in 1901, The Perth Mint was the last of three Australian colonial branches of the United Kingdom ‘s Royal Mint (after the now-defunct Sydney Mint and Melbourne Mint) intended to refine gold from the gold rushes and to mint gold sovereigns and half-sovereigns for the British Empire. Swan Bullion Company is proud to be an authorised distributor for The Perth Mint’s bullion and numismatic products.
