In recognition of Australia’s elite sportsmen and women, the Royal Australian Mint and Australian Olympic Committee have partnered to produce this exquisite $5 1oz Fine Silver Proof Domed Coin. With intricate detail, this premier coin represents Australian athletes at the pinnacle of their sports as they compete at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The Royal Australian Mint has twice honoured Australian Olympic Teams with dedicated coins and will again for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Harnessing the nation’s pride and the spirit of the Olympics, the Royal Australian Mint and Australian Olympic Committee are delighted to commemorate this significant event.

The Australian Olympic Team comprises approximately 450 of the nation’s best sportsmen and women in the first ever Olympics to have equal number of men and women competitors. Held over 16 days in July and August, this will be the third Olympic Games hosted in Paris, only the second city to have hosted this many Games.

Athletes will compete in 32 sports including basketball, cycling, surfing and sailing.

Each coin is struck by the Royal Australian Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver and is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The Royal Australian Mint will release no more than 2,024 of the 2024 $5 Australian Olympic Team 1oz .999 Silver Proof Domed Coin.

DESIGN

The coin’s design features an athlete in the Triple Jump event, executing the approach, jump and landing sequence. Also includes the inscriptions “2024 AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC TEAM”.

The coin’s obverse depicts the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, the monetary denomination and the 2024 year-date.

PRESENTATION

Each coin is presented in capsule displayed inside of a black presentation case accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
