Located in Canberra, it was the first mint in Australia not to operate as a branch of the British Royal Mint, symbolising a new era for the nation.

Over six decades, the Mint has become a leader in coin production, producing billions of coins and has supplied coins to over 30 countries. Its commitment to excellence is reflected in numerous international awards, recognising achievements in design, technology, and craftsmanship across various categories. Each coin is struck by the Royal Australian Mint from 1/10oz of 99.99% pure gold and is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The Royal Australian Mint will release no more than 2,025 of the 2025 $10 60th Anniversary of the Royal Australian Mint 1/10oz Gold Proof Coin.

DESIGN

The coin’s reverse depicts a stylised view of a coin press, as seen from above. Different aspects of the Royal Australian Mint story are also represented as well as the inscriptions “ROYAL AUSTRALAIN MINT”, years of operation “1965-2025” and ‘C’ mintmark.

The coin’s obverse depicts the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, the monetary denomination and the 2025 year-date.

Each coin is presented in capsule displayed inside of a presentation case accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
