Chinese Myths & Legends Phoenix 1oz Silver Bullion Coin
The phoenix is revered as an ancient symbol of happiness and harmony. According to tradition, it’s rarely seen – but for anyone lucky enough to witness its appearance, the phoenix is said to herald prosperity. A rarity like the legendary bird itself, this limited release will be a valuable addition to your silver bullion nest egg.
Meticulously struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, the coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and have a maximum mintage of 40,000.
DESIGN
The coin portrays a phoenix, which according to an ancient Chinese lexicon is the fusion of several other birds, including the head of a pheasant, the body of a mandarin duck, the tail of a peacock, the beak of a parrot and the wings of a swallow. In its beak is the flower of a paulownia tree, said to be the only species on which the phoenix will perch. Also included in the design are stylised representations of clouds, symbols of abundance and good fortune, as well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the coin’s obverse together with the weight, purity, monetary denomination, and 2022 year-date.
PRESENTATION
Each bullion coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT
Established on 20 June 1899, two years before Australia’s Federation in 1901, The Perth Mint was the last of three Australian colonial branches of the United Kingdom ‘s Royal Mint (after the now-defunct Sydney Mint and Melbourne Mint) intended to refine gold from the gold rushes and to mint gold sovereigns and half-sovereigns for the British Empire. Swan Bullion Company is proud to be an authorised distributor for The Perth Mint’s bullion and numismatic products. We carry a large selection of both bullion and numismatic coins from The Perth Mint. View our entire range of The Perth Mint products.
