2023 Representatives of the Species Chameleon 2oz Silver High Relief Coin

Niue Island 2023 – Chameleon 2 oz Silver HR is the first coin in the “Representatives of the Species” series, depicting the most extraordinary animals. The coin, created in cooperation between Mint of Poland and Germania Mint, is presented in sustainable packaging, made only from natural and ecological components: cardboard, paper, wood and linen.

The design features an image of a chameleon, a reptile that has piqued the curiosity of scientists and nature lovers for centuries. It can change its body colour, which allows it to adapt to its surroundings to protect itself from predators or attract the attention of the opposite sex.

DESIGN

The obverse displays a Chameleon resting on a branch amongst some foliage. The chameleon is presented in vibrant greens, blue and reds along its body.

The reverse features the Niue coat of arms in a smaller design surrounded by lush jungle foliage. The reverse also includes the fineness, monetary denomination and 2023 year-date.

Each coin comes antiqued in a high relief setting. The front of the coin includes ruthenium and colouring. The coins individual serial number is engraved on the bottom edge of the coin and the weight and fineness on the top edge of the coin.

PRESENTATION

Each 2023 Representatives of the Species Chameleon 2oz Silver High Relief Coin is presented in a protective capsule placed inside of a wooden box that has a linen liner. Each coin is provided in a Chameleon themed shipper. Each coin is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity that matches the one engraved on the coin.
