Each coin’s reverse includes features two classic red kangaroo’s boxing in the outback. The reverse also includes the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO’, the 2010 year-date, weight and fineness and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
