The Royal Australian Mint proudly presents Desert Life, the thirty-first release in its Kangaroo Series, celebrating the iconic Red Kangaroo and its home in Australia’s arid red centre.

Desert life is harsh and unforgiving, yet the Red Kangaroo has adapted to these surroundings and can go for long periods without water. But when water is found, this desert dweller enjoys a long cooling drink.

The Royal Australian Mint continues to tell the unique stories of our iconic national symbol through its ongoing Kangaroo Series.

Each coin is struck by the Royal Australian Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver and is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 with a mintage of 10,000.

DESIGN

The reverse depicts a kangaroo taking a refreshing drink at a desert waterhole. The unique polish and frost finishes of this coin create a striking contrast to the other proof coins in this 2024 release. Also features the weight, fineness and monetary denomination.

The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III sculpted by Daniel Thorne as well as the 2024 year-date.

PRESENTATION

Each coin comes encapsulated inside of a Royal Australian Mint plastic slab with a red-brown outback inspired Kangaroo sleeve.
